Every year, over 20 students start their pilot training at Aeroklubben's Flight School. Come and learn to fly with us!
Our flying club has been offering flight training since 1931, and since then over a thousand students have earned their pilot certificates with us.
Aeroklubben's Flight School is authorised by the Swedish Transport Agency to provide training for: Private Pilot Licence (PPL), Night Qualification (NQ), Class Rating (CR), Single Engine Piston (SEP), Pipistrel Virus, Pipistrel Velis Electro, Bristell B23, Variable Pitch, EFIS.
Ground school (PPL theory) and flying
All theory classes take place at Säve Airport — while the flying happens at Backamo Airfield, our new base. We occasionally head to nearby airports to practice takeoffs and landings, and we do longer cross-country flights to practice navigation.

You'll spend a number of flight hours (minimum 45) in the left seat working towards your PPL, with your instructor on the right. You will earn a SEP class rating and can also take your NQ night qualification here.

Här kan du göra din klassutbildning SEP (Single Engine Piston).
Du kan också ta ditt mörkerbevis NQ (Night Qualification).

The flight school is part of Aeroklubben. As soon as you start your training, you'll be meeting other licensed club members. You are also invited to participate in our various club activities from day one.
All you need is normal health, to be at least 17 years old — and yes, wearing glasses is fine. Most people can actually become pilots, so don't hesitate. You won't regret it!
Welcome to the Aeroklubben i Göteborg!
Learning to fly is one of the most fun and rewarding things you can do. It's an incredible sense of freedom and an amazing experience — but also a serious responsibility. Everyone at Aeroklubben's Flight School will help you in your journey towards becoming pilot in command of an aircraft.
We hope you'll enjoy it and feel right at home among fellow aviation enthusiasts — and of course, we want your time as a student to be a great one.

The basic principles of how you control an aircraft are the same as in big airliners. With a PPL, you can land at pretty much any airport, and your licence is valid in almost every country. Sometimes you'll fly in uncontrolled airspace, sometimes in controlled airspace talking to air traffic control.
You fly visually — eyes outside, with occasional reference to the instruments.

Weather needs to be "good" (flying in clouds or fog is not allowed under visual flight rules — VFR —, but you can often fly below / around the clouds).
And with a PPL, you're cleared to fly any of Aeroklubben's airplane!
